Overview of G&B Products

G&B products cover all the facilities and passive components that are necessary for a passive optical network (PON) as an essential part of FTTX (fiber to the home, fiber to the building, fiber to the curb, etc.). So the products include different types of distribution frame, fiber optic splice closures, termination boxes, optical splitters, fiber connectivity.

Distribution frame: in telecommunications, a distribution frame is a passive device which terminates cables, allowing arbitrary interconnections to be made. Types of these are outdoor or indoor distribution cabinets, wall-mounted or racked distribution boxes, and so on.

Fiber optic splice closure: fiber closures are used to distribute, splice and store outdoor cables which enter and exit from the closure.

Termination box: a termination box is used for indoor cables to be directly and separately spliced.

Fiber connectivity: types of these include patch cords, connectors, adapters, and so on. A patch cord is an optical cable, used to connect (“patch-in”) an optical device to another for signal routing. A very short patch cord may be called a pigtail.

PLC optical splitter: planer optical waveguide technology refers to optical waveguide dividing component using semi-conductor techniques, which means one signal can be divided up to 32 branches on a chip. Then inlet and outlet multichannel array is coupled and encapsulated at the two ends of the chip.
